Share protections: NDA gate, watermark, page analytics and access log
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Share protections
Share links can carry extra controls. These are available on the **Team**, **Business** and **Enterprise** plans.
What you can turn on when creating a share link
**Require NDA acceptance** - the viewer must enter their name and email and accept the confidentiality text before the document is shown. You can supply your own NDA text (up to 5,000 characters).
**Viewer watermark** - the document is shown with the viewer's identifying text repeated across the page.
Important limits
The watermark is a **visual overlay only**. It covers the rendered page in the browser. It does not stop someone from taking a screenshot or photo, and it is not embedded in a downloaded file.
On a link with an NDA gate or a watermark, the raw-text download is turned off.
An NDA acceptance is a record that the viewer clicked accept. It is not a signature, and we do not review the NDA text.
What you receive
**Access log** - for each opening of the shared document: the viewer name and email entered, whether the NDA was accepted, the IP address, and the time. The most recent 200 entries are shown.
**Page analytics** - for each page, how many viewers reached it and the total seconds spent on it.
Existing features such as passwords and expiry dates work on every plan that can share.
